One World in a New World with Susie Hayes – Author, Psychotherapist, Sex Therapist, Hypnotist, Coach

How curious are we about what’s inside and who we are beyond the cursory lives we live? Is there an awakening happening in humanity as a result of global trauma? Are we exploring the depths of consciousness to find truth? Is it a spiritual path or just the course of curiosity?

It’s not often one gets to go deep with a psychotherapist, let alone one with such an interesting background in getting there. Her introduction speaks to a deep sense of curiosity and knowing, which led her into questioning reality and belief systems about it more than most. Our deep dive goes from inner connection to business environments to self-awareness and more.

Suzie reflects on her childhood and growing up in a devout religious home, though her father encouraged her to question deeply, supporting her curiosity to explore life and her own journey. She was in the ministry for 13 years, traveling through many denominations, before taking a deeper dive into serving others.

She got stuck on the doctrine of original sin. I just didn’t resonate with her in her early 30s, which caused her to leave the ministry because of the dissonance she felt. Suzie, smilingly, reveals she became a metaphysical junkie for a while, reading and studying everything she could find.

What if we weren’t born in original sin? That question causes a lot of full stops in thinking, no doubt. Apocalyptic chats tend to cause a pause for reflection.

Then she found psychotherapy and a home for serving others with the experience, knowledge and wisdom she had garnered and yet still was curious about self-realization. We discuss business and work environments and how to deal with toxic environments later in the conversation.

Does it have to feel safe for you to be curious? Can you be fearless in your questioning? How do we create the environments to safely question truth or our perception of it? Suzie’s mention of trust and the story of how she found it is a must listen. You’ll garner insight for sure. Her wisdom shared could change your life for the better.

Exploration of self is her life-long effort that is unpacked in quite interesting and transformative ways in the conversation. Are you interested in resilience and resolve? You’ll find the way Suzie frames her experience and journey offers a lot of helpful hints anyone can integrate into life.

Do you live by an experience system or believe system? The conversation expands into some deep discovery.

The conversation goes deep into the curiosity of both Suzie and Zen and finer layers of personal space and the vulnerability of sharing perspectives in this psychologically safe and intellectually humble.

If you like deep conversations about how we work, this is a great one. Thanks for your attention and learning.
