Zen Benefiel, Author and Transformational Life Coach (BeTheDream.com) takes us on another apocalyptic (uncovering knowledge) journey in making sense common. Zen is a polymath, deep thinker and researcher and it comes out in his comfortable and open yet focused style.

In a past life Faye Kitariev, aka SoFeya, was an Olympic skating coach with her athlete, Sasha Cohen, achieving a Silver Medal in women’s figure skating, so she knows what discipline and determination can do. She admits that even though she came from a very disciplined country, she felt she rejected it in her youth.
As an adult in her degree work in spiritual psychology, she became aware of the trauma from the highly disciplined and often physically abusive environment. She was particularly surprised by how her studies revealed many trauma triggers which led to greater self-awareness and the ability to embrace and transcend them.
Growing up in Russia’s influence was particularly influential, though not how you think it would be as she defied her coaches and mentors. She mentions a well-known coach, Béla Károlyi, who inspired her as a coach years later; and even later finding a letter she’d written to him telling him about her aspirations in life. Her findings might just inspire you to write about your aspirations, too. After all, goals are just dreams with deadlines.
Midway through we begin to enter the twilight zone when our discussion turns to a bit of synchronicity beginning with a quick interlude on a Russian couple, Nicolai and Svetlana Levashov, scientist and psychic, after Zen inquires if SoFeya knows of him. The flow begins to dive deep into how inner work and spiritual practices. SoFeya shares her journey, including becoming a Kundalini yoga teacher, and how her connection to a greater consciousness led her into her current work.
SoFeya speaks to her growth in awareness and learning that even though we think we know stuff, our definitions are limited by the words we use. Experiences hold wisdom beyond words, yet it’s often a challenge to articulate the wisdom garnered in understandable terms and words.
Even when words do come, as we gain more knowledge, those words often change and so we need to not be so attached to them. There is a shared passion for elevating our conditions and the way we see the world as we emerge into something new. You’ll enjoy the full conversation.
